Meet Sunny and Mike Richter of Mingling Mouth in Rockwall
Today we’d like to introduce you to Sunny and Mike Richter.
Sunny and Mike, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Mike’s love for Texas smoked BBQ and Sunny’s Asian culinary flare brings a new style of smoked meat and fusion. We both left corporate jobs to pursue our dream of owning our own business. Mingling Mouth is the first locally owned Mobile Street Food Trailer of its kind. Our mission is to provide an atmosphere where people can experience and taste “passion and love” in our food. People coming together for the breaking of bread is the best way to bring happiness into people’s lives. Sky’s the limit on how the flavors of the world will mingle.
After 1 full year in business, you can find Mingling Mouth at Leon Tuttle Athletic Sports Complex and several events throughout the year with the City of Rockwall. Recently we added Mckinney Trade Days located in Mckinney, Texas to our calendar. We are currently working with the City to help change or update the current City Ordinance regarding Mobile Street Vendors. It’s our commitment to bring this concept to Rockwall.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
As with many first-time small business owners, learning the ropes did not come without its challenges. You can do all the research and talk to every experienced individual in the industry, you will never be prepared as you think you would be. We have learned A LOT since our first day.

Mingling Mouth is known for our smoked meats & fusion. Mike smokes the meats and Sunny combines them in different menu items such as, street tacos, loaded nachos, rice bowls and noodle soups to name a few. We try our very best to accommodate our clients with whatever food choices they desire.
What were you like growing up?
Sunny- I always loved watching my mom and elders cook. I always volunteered to help in the kitchen whether it was peeling garlic, washing vegetables or deveining shrimp.
Mike-Music and tattoos. No desire to be a cook or in the kitchen until he met Sunny. He grew to love the grill and smoking meats.
Enjoying food has always been the main center of focus in our family.
